Action Alert!

Part of a national call in solidarity with the Refugee Caravan arriving daily at the border from Central America. Cosecha, along with many other immigration rights and activist groups, including JHISN, has called for the action here in NYC.

Demonstrators will be creating an altar to commemorate those in the refugee caravan who have lost their lives on their way north due to U.S. rhetoric and policies that criminalize migrants. Migrants, who risk all to escape intolerable conditions in their home countries, are the victims, but they are labeled criminals by Trump et al.

Bring signs, flowers, stuffed toys and all kinds of personal objects to honor our migrant martyrs to lay on the altar.

Among the demands are:

• Respect for the rights of asylum for all members of the Central American Exodus
• Process all asylum claims made at Ports of Entry with expediency
• The U.S. government must publicly acknowledge its role in the Honduran Coup in 2009, which has led to the intolerable conditions there
